A Cozy Christmas Getaway

A few weekends ago we took the opportunity for a little weekend away to the Mountains of North Carolina.

For those that know me personally, there's a couple of things you already know. One-I am the Christmas queen. Seriously, I go all out. It's a bit ridiculous.

And two-this year for my little family has been hard.

And so, the Christmas Queen has been checked out this season. It's been exhausting and just not happening.

So a little Hallmark-esk getaway was needed. And this weekend delivered in all the right ways!

We traveled the 5 hours from Greenville, NC to the little town of Hendersonville Friday and arrived to our lodging for the weekend-Echo Mountain Inn-to check in. The inn was so perfect. It was built back in the 1800s and has retained its quaint, rustic charm.

We stayed in the English Country room. This room was what drew me to the inn and this town in the first place. I was on the hunt for something that just spoke peace to my heart and when I saw the listing, I couldn't pass it up. It did not disappoint!

The one thing I will say about getting to the inn-as with many places in the mountains, you go up this tiny winding road on the side of a mountain to get to it. It was a little nerve wracking in general, but add to that that it was insanely foggy our entire trip. We left to get dinner the first night and coming back in the dark was terrifying. We decided our second night to come back after lunch and door dash for dinner so we didn't have to do that again!

Honestly though, the fog worked in our favor. We needed that second day of just hanging out at the end. We spent hours in the common areas reading, playing board games, and enjoying the fireplace. Pictures of the common areas in all their Christmas glory-

I needed another few days of just sitting and reading by the fire with the Christmas music lightly playing throughout the room. It was pure heaven.

As I mentioned, we did venture into town for dinner the first night and a bit of exploring/lunch the next day. We had dinner at Shine which was a lovely, but slightly pricey restaurant. Our food was delish and service was great! It's a spot worth checking out. The town was quaint and felt like it came straight out of a Hallmark movie.

All told, if you're looking for a quiet weekend away, I would highly recommend checking the town of Hendersonville and the lovely Echo Mountain Inn out! And as always, remember that Enchanted Traveling Co would love to help you with those inn reservations!
